Bosch dropped OEM for my 12v cordless tools.

I went to Batteries Plus and the price was too high...

Just by coincidence I was at another Batteries Plus and the price was much less and the guy that rebuilt them showed me what he uses and even said I could wait or come back tomorrow... it's been a couple of years and no complaints.

Wow, that's odd.

I believe the Craftsman C19 Li-Ion batts are a direct replacement for the Ni-Cad ones..

All I saw there were 19.2 volt batteries. I have some 14.4V DeWalts along with a 7.2V screwdriver. I'd be happy to get lithium replacements for my 14.4V tools and it looks like the Battery Ship folks in Cheyenne, WY may just have the answer for me. We've been swapping emails lately thanks to a tip from another member, Zansmac, here.

The C3 19.2v (typo earlier) batts are for Craftsmen..

The only aftermarket battery I ever tried was for a notebook computer and it didn't last for squat.

I have had the 19.2 Craftsman tools for years and I can't imagine life without them. My initial set was a 1/2" drill, trim size circular saw, reciprocal saw, and a light. I have added a 3/8" ratchet that has been discontinued and switched all to the lithium batteries. The first set of nicad batteries lasted a long time but the second set got weak in a year or so. The lithium batteries are kicking strong so far.

I purchased the same set for work and the drill was a POS compared to the one I have at home but it still works okay and has lasted better than the Dewalt we had before it. The nicads that came with the set I bought for work also died within a year so I switched those to lithium. That cordless reciprocal saw is a great tool when you need it.

My batts lasted awhile, like 2 years or so working pretty hard, but I found the chuck on the 19.2 drill to be utter crap and always coming loose and dropping the bit. I went Hitachi after the last batt died and put the drill up on the shelf. Thought about buying the Li-Ion batts for it, but havent yet due to not wanting to mess with the chuck.

I have over 10 years on my 18v dewalt Lion batteries. 1 of the 4 no longer works but the other 3 are going strong. I never would have guessed they would still be going after this long.

My old, very old Makita cordless tools have lasted decades...

Always very careful to fully discharge by switching the battery to the flashlight and then full charge...

Hi guys,
I've got a craftsman 19 volt drill (with NiCd) and I'd like to change to the Lion batteries; but cannot seem to find anything but the regular style. I looked at all links provided and just didn't see the Lion batteries or any type of adapter listed for the craftsman. Is my only choice to replace the entire tool? Guess I can, just hate to give up on an otherwise usable tool.
If there is an adapter and Lion battery available that fits the craftsman 19.2 volt - please point me in the appropriate direction. Thanks, Greg
