Anyone own a CZ455 (Tacticool with threaded barrel) or a Savage MkII in a bull barrel (SV perhaps)? I been thinking about picking up another .22 bolt action, something accurate, fairly compact (Like the 16.5" barrels that are threaded) just to shoot steel with and maybe hunt with from time to time.
I have some Savages and they are pretty darn good shooting guns but I keep hearing great things about the CZ's accuracy and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I have heard some complaints about some bad bores/chambers on the CZ's but not sure how wide spread it really is.
Any thoughts on them???? Thanks

A CZ in 7.62X39 is on my short list........ and load light!

I have an older MkII-G, but not the bull barrel. Been shooting it for about 20 years now, I think. Mostly squirrel and rabbit, but no shortage of paper and cans, too. I've been trying to talk myself into a BSEV for several years now, but always end up finding something else that tickles my fancy instead. I really like those Savage rimfires (have a 93-G in .22WMR, too), but I've never heard anyone complain about the CZs.

I really like the CZ's and am leaning that way. The Savage is a nice gun but it seems the CZ is a little more refined. Plus I don't have one so if nothing else it is something different to try. Mainly looking for a gun that can print a 1" group at 100 yards and with .22's that not as easy to find as you would hope. It seems a lot of people are getting good groups on CZ's so they are on the short list.

I have CZ 452 LUXs in .22 LR and .22 Mag, and they are the more accurate RFs I have (in those 2 cals, vs Rem (.22M), Ruger, and Marlin semi-autos). 'Accuracy' is on par with my Wby Mk22 (Beretta-made, box mag) or a pal's (Miroku, box mag). I use the 452s to vet ammo before loading into the 10/22, Marlin, or the 'Mag' Rem 597 for yard work. On the bench, the CZ(s) would be my choice for a friendly, competitive 'shoot-off'. ;)

Thanks! The CZ seems pretty darn good for the price. I keep thinking about an Anschultz but just don't have the cash to drop on that for plinking.... Plus I would probably cry if the kids dropped it or banged in on something while shooting....

Fit & finish seem a bit nicer than on my 'big bore' 550 in 9.3x62.
These 452 RFs are indeed precious to me. :)

btw, the 'Euro-classic' stocks fit my height better than any with a 'straight' comb.

The 550 View attachment 488422 ... and I won't tout my CZ HGs.

I saw a 50 meter, 10 shot factory group from an Anschutz that you can cover with a dime. Wish I could do justice to such a rifle.
