I had a snowy misadventure today

Enjoyed the video very much Eric.
We got about 3-4 inches of snow here for our first storm. I was thinking about taking/posting a picture, but after seeing yours, no way, it would have been embarrassing.

Stuck or not, with no tractor damage, it's all good clean fun! Thanks for the ride along:thumbsup:

Impressive how you rolled that snow and kept the tractor going straight even with a 8400 lb tractor. Very nice set up. I loved the winter scenery in your video. We are supposed to get a rain changing to snow from that storm - ugh.

Uhm, how far did you have to walk from where the tractor got stuck back to your house? Is that literally like a few mile walk, in the dark, in a snowstorm, in the middle of no-where??

I believe he was able to get himself unstuck using the loader and blade for leverage.

Yes, I keep my AC on until it is about 20 degrees or colder. All AC systems have either a thermocouple or a temp sensor designed to protect the AC compressor from damaging itself by swallowing a slug of liquid refrigerant in colder temperatures. In my tractor in the cold, the AC doesn't work until the hydro oil along with the engine coolant is warmed up so as to provide enough heat around the engine bay to get the AC working. All to say that it is fog-city clearing out my own driveway as I don't really seem to get enough heat into the hydro oil until I'm transporting or plowing for awhile.
And you told me running the a/c would not work:D

There's a lengthy thread here on grooving R4's, somewhere.....

I enjoy the video.

Just something about plowing at night...more peaceful.

I'm interested that you would prefer turf tires in the snow. I would think they would be even worse than R4s. Have you considered R1s?

Nothing beats R1s in deep snow. Well except R1s with chains or maybe R2 cane tires. On packed snow or ice, though, R3s (turfs) are great. There's lots of space to get packed with snow. Snow against snow or ice gives pretty good traction.
