28 degrees, hard frost everywhere, glad I picked the last of the roses yesterday; found this single yellow rose, smells wonderful, probably a Peace rose.
back down to barber this morning.
let's see, truck has remote start and heat up, car doesn't....hmmmm. Well, both have heated seats and steering wheel, and I sure remember when such options were just a dream in a car designer's mind. Then again the older cloth seats weren't so cold...
I know, we are getting soft. And a bit spoiled.
As I was reminded this morning of the seasonal change by sitting down on a very cold toilet seat. Turned the heater on in the bathroom; electric heat works wonderfully until you get your bill.
And while suffering through said cold toilet seat, I was reading the Massey manual and to my dismay found about four zerks I knew nothing about. Clutch pedal, brake pedal, not critical stuff but I sure have to look more carefully. I got a set of those cute little bright yellow zerk caps so now when I grease a unit, unless the zerk is recessed like on a loader arm, on goes the cap. Helps to remind me where to look and for grease points rarely used, which ones I can basically ignore since the yellow cap says it had been thoroughly done. With the air powered grease gun, easy to pump grease but sure seem to be going through those grease cartridges more often.
Though growing up with a 55 gallon drum of grease and having to scoop it into a grease gun manually in my youth sure tells me how far I have come...

a little grease on me
a little grease for you
a lot of grease on me
