Need to change hydro fluid. Bought 10 gals from Tractor Supply. Is that safe for my tractor.

Which one did you get ?
The Traveler premium tractor/transmission fluid, or the Rotella HD tractor/transmission fluid would be fine.

Also is 10 gallon going to be enough? I bet your manual calls for more like 11 or 12? consult manual on fluids meeting specs.

OK. My little DK35se took 11 gallons. I would have thought your DK55 would have been more.

The hydraulilc oil normally used in the Kioti is a multi grade 10w-30 hydraulic oil. The Rotella HD is that multi grade oil. I have been using the Shell Donax TD which is now called the Spirax S4 TXM as RandyT mentioned. Great for my below freeing Winter temps and good in Summer. Members have reported good service with Tractor Supply's "Premium Hydraulic Oil", that is multi grade. From what I can find, 303 oil is a straight 20W oil. You probably would be fine in Texas being that your Winters aren't that cold but I think I would return it and get the multi grade oil of whichever brand you wanted.

Checked a Kioti oil chart and the DK55 is llisted at 10 gallons hydro fluid.

The 303 oil is for old tractors (1974 and earlier). Do not use it in newer machines with HST, wet brakes, or wet clutches. You need a premium grade oil (as mentioned above) for several reasons, including viscosity and friction modifiers.

Personally I would take the 303 back and get the Rotella HD or the Travelers Premium tractor/transmission fluid.

My DK 35 gear model takes 11+ gallons.
