Howdie from the Republic of Texas

I just bought a Ferguson T020 with a brush cutter. Who knows what year it is, but it runs. I've been clearing land on a 50 acre tract and putting in the infrastructure for a future house. I should finish up the solar system before the end of the year. I need to install a septic system to comply with the water district that controls the lake (I was going to go the composting route but they even require grey water be run through a system). Internet may have to be a tower to avoid Hughes. Water for irrigation will be from the lake. Drinking water will be a rain water system. Home will be reinforced concrete - think dome home as in Monolithic Domes (Italy, TX) but with modifications for appearances sake.

I'll mostly be reading here for opinions and ideas. I grew up in a rural area but ended up in the big cities for the jobs. It's now time to return to my roots.

It does not have to be Texans. New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, Wyoming were all part of "The Republic".

Welcome, Dave. When I first found Tractorbynet,, with a different name back then, we lived on 10 acres in Navarro County, just across the road from Navarro Mills Lake.
