Any soda jerks know or remember how to make a "cherry phosphate"/

It's been a dog's age since I had a cherry phosphate and am trying to figure out how to get or make one that tastes like it used to. It can't be that hard and I recall it was just something in a glass added to cherry flavoring and sometimes may have had vanilla ice cream added. Some were chocolate or other flavors but cherry is what everyone liked. It's been a long time and I never paid attention or watched because I figured the good times would never end.

They didn't for a while and I could get a cherry phosphate at small town soda fountains in Maine well into the 1990's. They didn't taste as good but I still didn't pay attention. Now it's today and yesterday I could have used another. It's not that I drink much soda, but a cherry phosphate would have been nice.

Anyone know or remember how to make one?

Well, the Torani had 4 stars, so I would go with that one...but I have no personal experience. And for that matter I have never had a cherry phosphate. So please take all of my recommendations with a grain of salt.

I came from that "era" and likewise have never enjoyed a phosphate. Humph - my folks made me drink milk - not very exciting.

About all my brother and I drank were malts and sodas. My Dad told me that when I was about 4 or 5 years old, I "invented" something that I called the "Super Duper"...a chocolate malt made with chocolate ice cream. Every time we went to the drug store/soda fountain, that's what I would order...and they knew what it was! In later years I loved a cherry soda or a chocolate soda.
