Ballast Water leaking from tires?

So my new JD 2032 seems to be leaking water out of both rear tires. I will take it back for warranty work soon (for the 5th time?).

I just don't know why both would be dribbling water - like a tablespoon every day?

Anybody have aany thoughts?

Sounds like a slow leak. Is it at the bead, valve or in the tread.

If they are tubeless I found adding a little more air helps seal the beads. Tires with fluid in them sometimes won't look flat.

Check the valve core, then check the valve stem (two piece)by taking a pair of pliers and turning the outer portion clockwise to confirm it is tight. Then check the nut that holds the stem to the tire rim to confirm that it is tight.
If the leak is coming from the bead seat to the rim, try pressuring up the tire to around 25 PSI not to exceed the max recommended pressure. Some times the bead doesn't seat without pushing the pressure up to the max inflation pressure. Drive it around a bit to help seat the tire. After the leak has stopped, adjust the pressure to 10-12 PSI which is usually about the right pressure for the rear tires. You want to have full bar tread contact for best traction and flotation. Best way to check that if you have a large enough flat concrete pad and you have dry tires, dampen the concrete and drive the tractor over it and see how much of the tread is wetted.
If you are still weeping fluid, then you may have punctured the tire with something. I suppose that is the first thing to check is to find where the wetness is coming from. I realize a couple of tablespoons full is not a lot to find where the tire is leaking.

Since you are in Florida I might assume that your wheels are filled with plain water, and of course you will have the leak situation corrected.
If, instead, you have CaCl (it is heavier) you should insist that the dealer de-mount the tires, and at a minimum, clean the rims and tubes (?), and inside of tires with soap and water.
If you leave spilled CaCl in your rims, over time, it will continue to eat away at the rims.
How do I know? I have TWO older tractors with new rims!

The joys of liquid ballast. Be glad you didn't have a problem in the woods as I hear that is a real mess and PITA.

Well, I checked the wheels yesterday, and they were dry. So I think I should blame it on warm, damp air condensing on the cold wheels. We did have a couple of fog warming days this week.

So I will keep my eye on it, and update this thread as required.

I agree that my fluid filled tires are often covered in moisture up to the fill line. This is just condensate from our humid air condensing on colder portions of the fluid filled tires. This runs off and collects underneath the tire and often freezes this time of year leaving a "clot" of ice on the tire/ground. Nothing to worry about.
