Hiniker SSQA Big Ox blade questions

4shorts has a well over decade old UHMW moldbord truck plow he converted to SSQA. Looks new.

I bought my poly plow new back in 1993. Used it commercially for 14 years. Then mounted it on a Kubota 4240 then onto the Kubota 5740. It is heavier than a steel blade because of the extra framing behind it but it's the best thing I've ever owned when it comes to snowclearing. Had steel blades before that and they were aweful. Wet snow stinking to them all the time and I'd have to get out with a shovel every four runs pushing show and beat the snow off. I'd never go back to a steel blade of any kind of steel blade now. Nothing sticks to the poly blade. Merry Christmas to all.

4Shorts- We had a high wind event that created some big drifts on Christmas day. I knew they were going to set up like concrete over night, but no way was I going to go out in the wind and move them as they formed. And I can't run the Unimog in wind like that - insufficient visibility and worried about flying debris (stones) hitting the house, etc. So a tough, long day yesterday breaking up the drifts a few feet at a time and then blowing them clear, and here this morning seeing the photo of your beautiful cabbed 5740. Hmmm....

I called Hiniker and the guy I talked to said the Big Ox has lateral oscillation but no vertical float. Is that right? I thought it had both float and oscillation?

Mine does, and I can see from Eric's video that his does too. They still have this on their website: "Free floating blade with 15 degrees of horizontal oscillation to clean uneven surfaces".
I'm not sure they are called Big Ox now. I see the numbers are still the same (2275, 2280, 2285) but they are listed as Conventional Skid Steer plows.

About how many inches of vertical float does it have? Is it adjustable?

The frames are hinged at the SSQA plate, with chains limiting the travel. The SSQA plate can fold all the way forward onto the frame when you drop the plow off. So, with it on, the blade and frame could fold up a great deal towards the SSQA plate. It's difficult to describe.
