Let me say....we can...

Saturday night...

We are both retired....

Christmas stuff put away and the bills are all paid....

Have no kids to be responsible for....

Dinner is done and the house is clean....

The cats do not care how late we stay out....

Weather and the roads are good...

AND, most of of all:

We can afford to go out and celebrate. But are we planning to?

NO....

I bleeping hate being as old as we are...

The problem with new years is it comes about 2 hours past bed time. Been going to bed early and up early for 35 years, we turn into bobble heads by 10:00 PM:laughing: Happy New Years to all and may it be a safe one with lots of tractors.

Going out? No... Kids (ages nearly 3 to just turned 16) had dinner of snack trays and traditional spare ribs if they wanted, with sparkling grape juice in wine glasses... plans of card games later, after momma gets done with her nap on the couch with dad, who has enjoyed a few beers watching tv and surfing TBN... Kids carrying on in the basement for now...

Been at least 5 years since we've 'gone out' for New Years... and we're not yet 40... yet. Few more days and I won't be able to make that claim!

No late night for us. Me and ma will be in bed by 10, probably throw a movie on and be asleep within a 1/2 hour. Kid's (17 and 20) will stay up.
