Here's an aerial photo of the family farm I now own. Was taken in 1949 by my Aunt Charline who was a Barnstormer Pilot. Also tried Wing Walking but she said that was too breezy..... :D

Yes I read your story about her and thank you for that. She was a brilliant lady.

Yeah, I remember reading recently in another thread the story about your aunt. Very cool picture. Ours are large framed prints that my Wife currently has sequestered away during the remodel. Need to find someone with a large bed scanner.

I was just digging thru my digital pics looking for a more current one but don't think I've digitized it yet. My neighbor has a Drone. He's gonna get me a current one. Will try to take it from the same angle as this old one. My Mom and Dad had just bought the farm when this one was taken. :)

In this case James, it is a pink and grey parrot not as large as a cockatoo. I found him on the road years ago. He had been hit by a car and had a broken wing. I nursed him and he took a liking to me and he is now a pet. He gets out of his cage occasionally and flies well now but he doesn't go away.
I was gonna say he hasn't 'gone bush' but I thought I better stick to non Ozzy lingo for ya. :D

Thanks, now see I would have known what "gone bush" meant. But I had never heard of the galah. I have talked to a fair number of ozzy's over the years and Kiwi's too over amateur radio, but I guess we didn't discuss the fauna. :) Many years ago, I used to talk to this old ozzy gal out in the middle of the country, I can even remember her callsign, It was VK3BJB. Her name was Joan. She was much older than I and I am sure she would be gone by now.

I just looked up that callsign, and it is still there!.. Joan Beevers in Mildura Victoria. Of course that doesn't mean she is still around, just that the callsign has not been reassigned.

Our county uses Google maps to assess properties. They do a compare to previous and if new buildings or improvements that they can see, they up the value. They don't do a in person inspection every year and save money this way...

Yep, ours too.

Don't mean to sidetrack the thread, but in this context, here's a handy website.

Type in an address and it'll show a Google map pic. Then the site allows you to draw out property and it'll tell you the size. My local Farm Service Agency showed me this one to use to determine acreage of certain fields. Again, sorry for the hijack.

Between google, other satellite pic sites, the tax folks, the deer hunters, the mushroom hunters, and the drug cops, you really don't have much privacy.

Sorry...it does not work...typed in my address correctly and it showed me the farm two miles north of me. The view is also horribly fuzzy once enlarged even a little. I am using a Windows 10 15.6 laptop for the purpose right now.
