I was watching a short news story concerning Google. The Google executive said they have applied for permission to start offering real time video from their satellites. Now THAT my friends will put a crimp in your privacy..... :)

I was talking on the phone and casually reading the original post out of the corner of my eye, I misread goannas for gonads. I was confused why your rash was getting your guinea fowl so upset.

LOL
Let me be clear.... Goannas can be VERY large, can climb trees, grab chooks and tear them to pieces, steal eggs, and even your dogs can come off second best to a big one. One of my dogs has part of an ear missing from a goanna. He still chases them as he knows they are bad news to our chooks. :)

Chooks, = hens, roosters, guinea fowl, and we have geese and some friendly (mained) geese (wood ducks) who have adopted us as well. We also have a cockatoo and a galah that don't like goannas hanging around and start screeching out.

I usually keep a half roll of TP on the tractor when I am back in the hills and far from home. One day I had a need to use it at a location far - really far - from everything. In the middle of doing my business I heard voices - a conversation. That was just not possible. I looked around as I finished up quickly and saw nothing. I kept hearing the voices and assumed they were coming from somewhere in the woods. Then the voices seemed to come from above. I looked up to see two hang gliders circling and talking. They were a ways up there and I don't know if they even saw me but I now always remember that every time I am back there and nature calls.
BTW our property is adjacent to a very popular hang gliding / para sailing jumping off point.

Oh Boy... how embarrassment! (as one TV star would say)

Urban dictionary to the rescue:

galah
An "Old Australian" word; an derogatory term that means a "loud-mouthed idiot." Named specifically for the galah, a native Australian bird that makes a distinctive (and quite funny-sounding) call.
"Oh, Scotty, ya bloody galah! What are you ON ABOUT?!"

The stuff we learn here on TBN!...

The ones that get me are the meat salesmen. They are out on farms and ranches in cattle country trying to sell second rate beef. My guess is the seafood and chicken must sell as this is the wrong place to be selling beef.

I have had a few jehovah's witnesses but they usually get the hint that I am not interested pretty quick. Only other visitor I can think of was the aerial photo guy wanting me to pay $200 for a picture he took of my place. Sent him packing as well.

I take my own aerial photos with a quadcopter so tell him you have a quadcopter and do your own as well.

In this case James, it is a pink and grey parrot not as large as a cockatoo. I found him on the road years ago. He had been hit by a car and had a broken wing. I nursed him and he took a liking to me and he is now a pet. He gets out of his cage occasionally and flies well now but he doesn't go away.
I was gonna say he hasn't 'gone bush' but I thought I better stick to non Ozzy lingo for ya. :D

We need to do that again. Keep the tradition alive. There is an aerial picture of our place when my Wife's Grandparents first bought it and moved there in 1970, and another from about 15 years ago. The changes were substantial. As we are making more changes, I'm thinking an updated picture is in order. Thought about hiring one of those photogs, but then realized for that money I can buy a halfway decent drone and take all the pictures I want.

Here's an aerial photo of the family farm I now own. Was taken in 1949 by my Aunt Charline who was a Barnstormer Pilot. Also tried Wing Walking but she said that was too breezy..... :D
