74 degrees in Jacksonville Florida, currently located at the end of the Jacksonville airport runway, aka Pecan Park rv campground. Last couple of planes have been coming down, much quieter than the ones going up.
Started my day with a great big smile; the guy with the rig blocking my way out left, and left me a huge opening to get out instead of almost nothing. That put a good start on the day. About six hours up here with two gas stops.
The hemi makes all the power I could ask for but it must have some large fuel lines and pumps to guzzle that much gas when put the test. Like towing my trailer which is almost at max weight. MPG is now up to a whopping 9.6mpg.
I can just imagine our Canadian and British friends driving something that gets less than 10 mpg. I believe the old term of being driven to the poor house would apply.
no more pics of boats but i just happen to have some new land yacht pictures. Check out the Prevost H3-45 fifty feet away from me. We are both on the very first site in, all pull thrus and pretty much identical. The campground is totally full. Thankfully I had reservations. Being first in line will mean more noise, more diesel trucks making a lot of noise even going slowly.
Since that Prevost was likely to cost well over one million dollars, like rolling penthouses I believe made in Canada but upfitted in lots of places, Texas I believe has some high end builders who buy just the Prevost chassis. It's basically the world's finest Greyhound bus, built very strong, I almost wonder if the glass on the one near me is custom and maybe bulletproof? The imagination runs wild outside of those dark tinted windows.
I had to chuckle at the possibility of the little one being the tender to the big one, and when they leave, the little silver MB being towed behind the Prevost. Probably the staff...just like a big yacht. And the MB is much more excursion friendly.
After what I saw in Ft lauderdale, anything is possible.
