Awful experience here last night, in addition to the plane noises. Hispanic festival in flea market/park next door with outdoor band booming what I can only describe as Mexican polka music, interspersed with some guy yelling into the microphone like the announcers on hispanic game shows. And my rv was closest to music; like getting stuck in front of the speaker at a wedding... 4 and half hours of that. This campground is just too noisy for me. Tonight should be much better. And for sure tomorrow night will be, home in bed.

Congrats buppies on 40.

34° and overcast. Had the option of working, stayed home.
Might try to pull an old fuel oil tank out of a basement, via up some stairs. Somehow my wife and I got it down there. Was going to add it as a 2nd tank, never hooked it up.

39°F and foggy this morning, going up to 57° with rain most of the day.

We survived "Icemageddon" this weekend. We had about 1/4" at our place on Friday, which was mostly gone by Saturday afternoon except on the trees and grass.

Stayed home from work Friday because of the weather, so my Wife promptly put me to work painting in the rooms that were mostly finished. Painting ceilings at 50 years old wasn't nearly as much fun as I had hoped.
Termite-gate continues into today. Wife talked with a manager on Friday (to whom she noted that was now her 6th call), who assured her someone would be out between 9-11 today. We'll see.

65°F and again no rain since midnight, just .04 inches yesterday.

Enjoyed both games yesterday, could have gone either way. Should make for some good games next weekend.

Have to make a run into HD later.

decided not to wash the rv and walk down to the beach on Lake Marion so I can take some pictures.
better idea, right? If I don't come back I'll be somewhere in the Lake....

No, we got off pretty easy this time, Drew. I saw one small branch that came down from the pecan tree beside the garage. That was it. All of the trees from the barn to the road (51 of them, I believe) have been professionally trimmed over the last year or so, so most of the weak or dead stuff has been removed. I haven't been back around the pasture property line yet. Too soft right now. No telling what's down back there.
No power loss for us either.

PJ, I'd love to get your input on some pecan trees I'm thinking of making a small orchard/grove out of.

Well the walk to Lake Marion was good exercise but the day is really grey and you can't see anything from here but
big power poles in the lake next to the Rt 95 bridge. Which so far is much quieter than last few nights though that big highway isn't far away. some impressive rigs here, I think these folks must be seasonal considering the amazing amount of lawn furniture they have. And I really got a kick out of the old Jag in here, looked in nice shape.
