It's the only way to go!

I have no idea how anyone does anything with a box blade without it! Hats off to you for spending the day manually adjusting! It will pay for itself FAST even if you only value your time at minimum wage.

"Hydraulink" might be worth considering.
Certainly NOT close to being as good as a real hydraulic top link, but less expensive.

How many of you use a dual acting hydraulic top link? I found some for around $200 on Surplus Center. I already have a diverter valve for additional hydraulic that set empty unless I'm using my snow plow. What are your thoughts and suggestions on using a hydraulic top link?

You know,, the top link in your pic does not need tractor hydraulics??

It is self contained! ,,, just open and close the little valve.

In considering hydraulics to do mechanical, screw thread functions, my problem has been repeatability in setting the implement back to where it was on a repetitive basis. Grant you that was years ago and tractors and implements were primitive. If you could control positioning, then throw my hat in the go fer it ring.
I have seen them with a pointer and sliding scale setup on them for easy reference. I'm considering attaching a ruler to the ball end of my one, maybe have to drill a hole and tap it, and having a pointer on the cylinder. Just a big yellow ruler with inch markings and a reference point of some description. I use mine a lot on the hay mower so I don't scalp it when going over the brow of a hill or can mow a fraction higher/ lower when needed

No the one in the pic DOES need a control valve, it's not a self contained unit. The square box is a check valve that the hoses connect to. I've been using that toplink from surplus center for just over two years and have had zero issues with it.

I use mine enough to look at the length of the cylinder rod showing to know if my box blade is trimmed correctly. But I can see where with implements that are not used often that the ruler/indexing could be helpful.

After having a hydro top link you will forever wonder how you managed to get along without one! One of the best improvements I have made to my tractor!

This sounds like a good addition to my tractor. How do I go about determining the length of the Hydraulic top link I need for my tractor. Do I measure my current top link fully retracted and fully extended and use those measurements.
Also I already have a third function on the rear of my tractor. Is that all I will need to work the hydraulic top link
