Ford 1710 steering shock replacement

Does anyone know of a replacement brand or have a model # of one they bought for theirs? I'd love to be able to order one from napa or get one from an auto parts store vs having to drive 90 miles to my nearest new holland dealership. Thanks

No sir, I mean the shock that controls the dampening effect from the steering. Similar to a cars shocks, but its attached to the tire and frame.

I'm forever perplexed at the number of folks that think they have to drive to a dealership to pick up parts. UPS, FedEx, and the USPS provide wonderful service.

I will have to look at mine but I always thought that was the power steering cylinder that is horizontal under the tractor. You can probably also tell that I have never had a problem with mine so i will not be much help in finding a replacement. I also agree with RickB - UPS is a lot less expensive than driving 90 miles although I thought 90 miles in Texas was just across the street to the neighbors.

Yeah I comprehend I can order something from the internet, I also said that I'd rather go to napa or another auto parts store to buy a replacement. Mine was fine until it got bent to a 90 angle from a branch.

So do you have any helpful cross reference numbers along with that helpful tip about possibly ordering the wrong part over the internet and then having to ship it back?

There's only one choice in the 1710 parts catalog; SBA344950340. If somebody at a parts house cross references that and it doesn't fit, blame them.

You might consider going without the steering dampener. Just keep under 50 MPH.

A Ford 1710 tractor has a steering dampener?
My 1920 4x4 is obviously newer, but I do not think it has any such part.
I do have a power steering hydraulic cylinder.

Think again. Or just check one of the online parts lookups. Nobody is claiming a 1920 has a steering dampener. The discussion is about a 1710, which does.
