AGCO shows that as what we always referred to as a button clutch. Yours has 5, pads, or buttons. We had them in some of our dump trucks at work. The groan is just the nature of the beast.
As Banjodunn said, they bite harder, more pressure psi. There was one in my '58 Case 310B backhoe, but metallic type. Appeared to be the original, and still looked like new, and surprisingly, so did the flywheel.
