Look for it at any auto parts store under the name "Never Seize". A word of caution on it's use, only put it on what you want it on...it doesn't wash off easily!!

I use a lot of never seize, but you also can get fluid film in a small can with a brush built into the cap.

Anti seize compound has been around for a long time. I've been using it over 40 years now. I use it on pretty much every nut or bolt I install that at some point later I want to remove. I use it on bolts that go through a sleeve that has no grease fittings etc. Currently the anti seize I'm using is a mixture of copper and graphite. Its used as a lubricant that coats the metal with a protective barrier that guards against rust, corrosion, and galling of threaded connections. I also use the regular silver colored anti seize but my supplier was out the last time I bought. I also use it on lug nuts and the back of wheels when I rotate tires or do a brake job. Have you ever removed your lug nuts and found the wheel stuck to the brake drum or wheel hub. Anti seize will prevent that.

Ah yes... good old anti-seize compound. We used it all the time during my Navy days and it does a great job.

It's also the 'glitter' of compounds! Worse than grease for jumping off of your tractor onto your clothes (even if you just walk by the tractor :)). It will show up in the most unusual places around your house/property/vehicle within moments of being applied to the job at hand.

(or maybe it just seems that way :confused3:)

(Keeping the thread hijacked for another comment)
Besides its persistence as Wagtail noted there is a second caveat for using anti-seize, never-seize or just plain grease on threads.
Torque values are given for "dry" fasteners. A rule of thumb: If the threads are lubricated, torque to 75-80% of the recommended value. If you want to be more precise, check the fasteners' technical data (assuming you can find it).

I've never taken the backhoe off my BX23...

Does this mean it is no longer possible?

Will need to look at it closely next time.

Anyone have a picture if the part in question?

Would adding grease fittings be feasible?

I have the ones I torched off. I'm on my way to my shop this morning to get the welder ready today. It's such a simple part and the price I paid for the parts were good with me at the time but now the picture has changed and I will replace the pipe portion and replace the damaged parts.

26.57 was not worth the aggrevation, 280.57 x 2 I can stand a little aggrevation, beside I have a welder!

I suggest you make new ones from Inconel, hastelloy or titanium.

Or try this stuff.

Not to change the subject, but... in all my years, I've not heard of 'anti-seize compound'. I just looked it up and it sounds great. How and what do you use it on? Its basically an anti-Loctite... is that correct? But if so... does it result in abnormal loosening? Or is it only used on things which are 'attached' but need to remain loose, such as levers etc?

How do you use it and on what do you use it?

They make some high temp stuff that I use for exhaust parts. The same can gets used on lug nuts and about anything that was a PTIA to remove- lawn mower blade, transfer case cross member bolts suspension parts, fireplace hardware etc. I've never had an issue with it causing things to back off.
