This fall the wife and our soon to-be-married daughter in law had a Christmas performance down the road in Gatlinburg TN. On the way home that night, while traveling through the mountain back roads, as we always do, the wife and daughter in-law met the most frightening sight they may ever see, a Fire storm rushing up the Mountain side engulfing everything behind them as they raced to flee the flames. They explained, the flames were moving faster than they could drive with the roads switching back and forth. Prayers were being yelled allowed as they raced beyond any safe measure of driving. They nearly ran off the side of the Mt. several times, with certain death. With driving skills our son had helped instill over the past few years while driving auto-cross, they made it out of the Valley of **** with melted tires and burnt auto paint.
A lot of folks didn't make it. Many souls were lost that night. We are thankful for every minute we have. Our prayers go out to all those who lost someone.
