MF 1523 hydraulic fluid Leak

My MF 1523 Hydro (270hrs) has developed a major hydraulic leak from both Left and Right Diff. Covers where the FEL frame Attaches. Specifically, it seems the gasket between the covers and main housing is compromised (appears to be silicone). Any advice on how best to repair this leaking problem? The leak is continuous and I'm running through a lot of fluid. Thanks in advance for your help.

You are talking about the trumpet (axle) housings? They may be cracked, or the case itserlf. When was the loader installed?

The same happened to our 1523, stripped bolt when MMM was installed. Main diff housing had to be replaced.

Thanks for the feedback Will. I bought the tractor with the loader already installed. Axle housing appears intact & the leaking is definitely coming from the space between the Diff Housing & Diff Cover, where the gasket is apparently compromised. Looks like a big Job just getting to this as I will need to drop the loader etc.

There is no gasket, it is a sealer that is used. Do you have a service manual with torque specs? Please keep us posted.

Just wondering if you got your leak fixed. I have a 1523 the just started doing this. It is on the side that the mid mount mower raises and lowers with the 3 point arm.

May need to be resealed. Our trumpet housing cracked, needed a new one.

Get an MF service manual.
