Buying Advice Mahindra; Three Strikes and Their Out...Almost

they should get out of the office and of their smart phone and bring these tractors up to temp, make sure all functions are working

Exactly.

I didn't buy a Mahindra because they look cheap.

That's not the concern, that thing should work perfect the day you get it. That's why they have dealers.

If it's a piece of junk, it might have problems later on, but not right off the bat.

2nd this. 3 tractors built by different factories. All ended up at the same dealer and all had basic (meaning a basic road test would have found) shifting and clutch issues.
I agree. The dealer should have caught all those in their inspection before they delivered it to you. That is one of the reasons why you pay a dealer their markup over manufacturers cost.

My daughter wanted a house,, next door to me.
Well,, the listing agent,, never,,, NEVER, set foot on the property.

Oh, yea,, I love having my daughter next door!!

I think this is what is known as 'false economy.'

I bet the OP (or the multiple other posters we've seen) no longer feels that he "got a lot of bang for his buck." :confused3:

I only know what color it would not be! (... I might buy one from Dave's). I'd buy a Branson before a Mahindra. :confused3:

Some day, when I am real bored, I am going to go into the Kubota section of the forum and run my mouth about what I don't like about orange tractors.......... :)

Rhetorical question, what would cost a dealer more, multiple trips by service department to customers' home, or have a mechanic thoroughly checking the tractor before it leaves the lot.

It is easy to see why some fail and some don't. Mahindra needs their regional reps educating their dealers, training them for success.

I don't understand why people are bashing Mahindra as a company of crappy tractors, what should be blasted is the dealer for letting Mahindra down.

My great uncle gave me the best advise when I was buying a compact tractor, he said: "Buy the tractor that's easiest to get parts for, they all break down" not once did he say what color or brand to buy, he never bashed any tractors. Except for gleaner lol

If you read on here long enough it doesn't matter what color the paint or plastic is, it's going to break down and your going to have to fix them.

In this case the dealer let this guy down, not Mahindra, it's very hard to get every tractor perfect 100% of the time but it's up to the dealer to make sure there ready to go to the customer.

67 year old tractor

10 year old compact, even with the poorer quality craftsmanship of today's standards, they really have improved from what they were. In comfort and HP. Minus the cab, HST and shuttle shift is worlds better.

Mahindra will stand by there product for 7 years, no other color will do that. Orange is 6, worst I found was NH at 1 year lol.

Here's an 100% off topic but fun comparison with the diff between what my dad was working with and what I'm working with now.

2005 JD 4320: 3800lbs, 48hp, 40hp HST PTO, 2.4L 4 cylinder Diesel, 2100 RPMs, 14.5 gal fuel tank. 4wd with deff lock. Add the loader and cab and I'm at around 5200lbs
