Butterfly in February

Been 20+ degrees above normal for a few days here in Indiana. For the first time, saw a butterfly in February! Anyone else in the Midwest spotted butterflies?

No, but my wife and I found a Wollybear crawling along a week ago, February 12th, just outside of West Lafayette at Prophetstown State Park. Crazy weather. This time last year I was ice fishing. Today we walked on the beach at Lake Michigan!

We have Cherry trees, Saucer Magnolias and more flowering here. It's crazy...

I saw a small orange butterfly over the weekend.

People are saying that the Daf's and Forsethia are blooming early but they really are not. They usually flower in Feb and we are almost in March. The trees are starting to bloom which does seem a bit early.

No butterflies in Kansas as of today but we will set a record high in Kansas City today. Should hit 80

No butterflies here yet, but while we were painting last weekend, we opened all of the windows on our new sunroom (no screens in yet), and had a swarm of gnats come in and get themselves stuck to the fresh paint. ullinghair: I also swatted a mosquito Sunday. Not at all ready for those things yet.

The only thing moving around here so far is those red & black box elder bugs. BUT spring can't be far off because my wife is outside washing her car.

No butterflies here. Other bugs are out. Day lilies and tulips are about 4 to 6 inches high already.
Spring cannot get here soon enough.

We hit a record of the earliest we hit 60+ 3 days in a row or some such record. I cannot imagine how hot the summer will be or how bad the bugs will be.
