And the "bear claw" anchors are removeable, so when you hit the trails they don't drag. Brings rear departure angle back up to match the tank, rather than having them hang down.

And. They double as beer openers:

Does that do it justice?

I see you are "opening" Pil! Must be in Saskatchewan!

We had some very tall Douglas Firs on our property, my father would put on his climbing spurs then attached a cable halve ways up then pull the tree over bringing up the large root ball at the same time.

These Firs were well over 3 feet in diameter, one tree had been truck by lightning and died soon after, Danny Sailor a world champion tree climber wanted to purchase the tree to relocate onto his property so that he could practice up for the upcoming New York Worlds fair.

My father told him to limb the tree and use it where it was free of charge, we had a free show. Sailor before making the climb would drink liquid honey for that added energy. Where the tree was topped at 120 feet the diameter was a mere 10 inches across, Sailer would stand on the top swinging a holla hoop around his waist then suddenly toss his hard hat into the air then race it to the ground were he would catch the falling hat.

For those of you old enough to have taken in the NY world fair, Danny;s act had taken a turn he had broken his ankle as they say in show business the show must go one. In this case Danny had signed a contract to perform. And that he did.

He had a custom made fiber glass leg cast made up, with the cast he could climb but not endure the long drops in coming down the pole so he devised a long cable at an incline then from hos top pole act faked a fall. I did not attend the fair so I'm unable to comment on how the crowd reacted to the performance.

The winch my father used was called an Australian Bull winch rated at 75 ton.

For some reason reminds me when I was a young lad and we would have 2' of snow like that, with just a snow shovel to bail it out. But the BX is a step up from that.. but keep in mind, just one bite at a time.. :D

Will try to keep this thread on task of snow weapons.. ;)

Not my snow removal equipment, but pretty impressive. I saw this guy driving down the road yesterday widening the roads. They were starting to close in.

I gotta check my lettuce, and spinach that I planted last week,,, to see if it is up,,, YET!

The weatherman on the news said that they see NO below freezing temp projected as far as they can determine.

If no freezing temps are projected,, can I remove the snowplow,, and install a garden plow?

You are far enough south. I would go for it! It has just been too warm and the ground is starting to warm up here. It is going to take a lot to get cold enough to get much snow even as far north as i am.

Another day, another snowfall. Cleared the driveway with the Vplow, then cut back (pushed over?) the windrows with the Vlow. Works like a charm. -20C.

With 18-24" forecast for tomorrow, we hope to see some more pics in this thread from all the northeast guys over the next few days! :)

We've had 2 good 2'ers this winter, the first one almost immediately got rained on, a lot and the 2nd one, pretty much our last plowable snow, got warmed up on, a lot:laughing:. Now the woods have about 20-24" of real hard snow. Hard enough the tractor only puts a 6-8" rut's in it.

Just behind the tractor is my woods road that I've kept open all winter, to the left is around 16" of that hard snow.

I "bellied out" the tractor last week going over a creek, didn't have the winch on back either:eek:

our snow is finally beginning to melt off. still have 3' on ground that needs melting.....ill be taking snow equipment off this weekend as the roads have melted off and too much dirt and rocks are showing to plow or blow. plus weather calls for 40's all next 7 days. its 45F today and raining

We've been snow starved in PA this winter. All that's supposed to change tomorrow (I'm like a little kid at Christmas!). I was able to shoe horn the wife's minivan and my Jeep GC into the shed with enough room in between for the tractor (a first). The driveway is soft from all the warm weather so I'm using edge tamers and pipes on the bucket (hate moving gravel back). Let it snow!!!
