Our Home In The Woods!

After having serious issues with the barn building company and terminating our contract we have just about reached the finish line. Concrete was supposed to be included and that's where we went our seperate ways. I kept my final 20% and will have to finish on my own. I'm great with that. Had an excellent concrete crew come in and pour a minimum of 5.5" thick slab with 3/8 rebar and 3 5x12 aprons at each 12x12 door for just about the same money I kept by terminating the contract. Ended up working out great. The pole barn installer will be coming tomorrow on his own to finish installing the roll up doors and some odds and ends including where I hit the building with my tractor when I was having to do a final grade for the original company against what I was told by the salesman.

Anyways, I'm excited to have concrete. We're leaving in the am to go visit my folks in Rockport for a few days and when we come back it'll be a mad dash to get some things moved in there. Then I'll be getting the electrical run and lights installed! Should be a fun filled expensive two weeks coming up!

We would've for sure but way to north. We go down thru Belleville to Victoria then head south

Started getting moved into the shop today. I love it. It still needs the doors hung which was supposed to have happened today and didn't and about 5' of trim installed. Really loving the size and openness. Hung a 50' length of construction lighting to get me by until my shop lights get here and all the wiring is done.

Yes Brett, hope life is treating your family well.

Things are going great! Checked out the new tractor yesterday, hope to get it tomorrow!

2017 JD 5100E cab with H260 loader
MX15 batwing
8' frontier hyd scarfier box blade

Also decided to get a new compressor for the trailer so it'll be easier to change tires and blow out filters. JD 30 gallon 30 cfm gas compressor. Got it mounted on the neck of the trailer. So between the new trailer, truck and tractor stuff it's safe to say I'll need to work for atleast another 100 years! Besides that we still love our place, but like most it's always a work in progress. This rain has been killing me on getting some rock spread around the shop. The mud is driving us nuts!

Hope all is well with you both and I'll add pics when we get the tractor!

Brett,
Also I got my mig welder going. Did you have any prints or sketches when you built your land plane?

The dealer is happy too. To be honest, he's really helping me out since we had so much issues with the 5055e. Don't think I could get a deal like this anywhere else. We're just still having issues with that tractor and it's time to cut my losses however, he's giving me an outstanding deal to help.

I just checked again and never got your email! Try it again

That's great! Welders are one of those tools that you can always find a project for. I built it in the driveway and shot from the hip. I think it's 10' wide and 9' long. Works great but if I was doing it again, I'd find much taller I-beam so allow it to carry more material.

Your welcome to use it anytime you'd like. My buddy and I have almost what you'd call a co-op of implements. He's using it now and I have something of his. No need in us each buying duplicates of the things that sit more than anything.
