2538 transmission fluid 50 hr

Almost time to do 50hr on my 2538. According to the manual need to change all filters except air filters. And all fluids except coolant. I have read a lot about UTF fluids and I have come to the conclusion that I will just use the Mahindra brand fluid. It is the only fluid my manual recommends. I know more than likely just about any UTF will work. I also know Mahindra brand is not what came in mine because it is clear and Mahindra brand is dyed purple. Since the book actually gives specs for engine oil I will use Rotella T5 15w40. And Rotella 80w 90 in front axle. I read several threads about cleaning the screen when changing transmission fluid can anyone tell me where that screen is I can't find it in my manual.

I think the screen is a matter of HST or shuttle. I know my shuttle doesn't seem to have a screen to clean but since both the operators and service manuals are so poor and bereft of any real or relevant information one never really knows for sure.

Mine is an HST so I am sure it has one just not sure where it is.

just swap the filter and do a full change next year during your full service. That fluid is premo..... if you want to do the screen to then do a full hyd/trans service you will have to drain it anyway

The 1500 series and 2500 series are two different tractor manufactures... you will find complete differences between the models just on that alone
