If you are wanting a lift I would go will a three bay pole barn, and put the lift in the bay where your truck and camper aren't going to be Getting out of your truck to use your lift is one thing but every day is kind of a pain.

the lifts I have been looking at require 14' min height for a full type lift. You can get a lift that doesn't go as high for lower ceiling heights.
When I build, the min. height will be 14' which I believe puts the peak at 16'

I haven't started yet. Maybe next yr. I'm going to check on stick built vs pole vs steel building. I will need about 40'x40'

Hmmmm,, between me and the boys we have 3 lifts. None require more than 12'. For two post lifts the top cross brace is 12'. For four post lifts much less is required to set the lift. Ceiling height requirement is determined by how tall the vehicles are you choose to lift. I'm actually using a four post lift in a 10' eave height shop with vaulted ceiling. My lift will raise high enough to put a vehicle into the ceiling. But by that time it's much too high to work on.

It's extra tall for lifting high profile vehicles such as conversion vans and such. But as you stated earlier a standard lift should be right at 12

Cool. Would be handy with a pickup and bed rack as well.

I don't raise mine even close to max height when changing oil, etc.
