How come, so many of the TO 35 tractors have the rear fenders crumpled on the rear ends? It looks like the draft arms grabbed them on the way up or some implement. If I raise the draft arms, they don't seem to get close to the fenders, when lifted all the way up. Hmmm .... ??

TO 35, Wow, that's an oldie. Maybe just due to age and operator error. My neighbor has a MF 1734E less than a year old and both rear fenders, hood and grill all have dents, scrapes, bent skid plates and one new tire already. Definitely operator error on his part. He's rough on tractors.

Possible the machine had tire chains that were loose enough to grab the corner of the rear fender and pull it in? That's what it looks like on my MF35.

That's kind of what I thought. It's got new tires on it 12.XX - 28 ... it may have had 13.6 - 28. ??

Mine's a 35 Utility, (basically a MF202 with 35 sheetmetal), and came with 14.9x24 rears. The chains I just put on mine come pretty close to the fenders before I cinch them down tightly.

I have a ..ummm...friend who hung about 300 lb. of steel plate ballast on a pipe that crosses from one rear fender support to the other. After about 30 years, the fenders and supports are starting to crush downward, and it was time to find a better place to mount the weights ( exact place yet to be determined.) So you see, stupidity is one cause of crumpled fenders.

Mine right fender got crumpled when I made too sharp a turn with a side delivery rake!
