Got this pic of what appears to be a three legged coyote a couple weeks ago and wanted some opinions on it. Does it have just three legs, or is the left hind leg obscuring the right hind leg because of the angle?

As a bonus, I have another pic of a three legged coyote that I got in 2014. Or at least, I am convinced this one is missing the front left leg.

I'm guessing the leg is obscured in the first picture; the stance looks normal and not compensated like in the second. Three-legged dogs do just fine, no reason a coyote can't do the same.

I think it is obscured by his tail.

I had not thought of that possibility, but it seems to me the right hind leg would be a little out of place that far back at such a slow walk. With that camera, if the critter has any pace to it at all, it will blur some because it has a slower exposure at night so it can build a brighter image. In other words, the least little movement will blur most night pic's.

I tend to agree that it's obscured by the left hind leg.
