SAME Argon 50
.
Hi guys,

I'm trying to check the transmission oil level in my SAME Argon 50.
The manual has a diagram that isn't clear in its indication of the level checking point.

I see there's a small (6mm I think) allen-head grub screw right near the top rear of the transmission. I removed it and it seems there is nothing behind it and no oil seeped out.
Is this the oil level checking hole? ie. the one you remove and see if the oil is up to its level?

I'd take a photo, but the tractor is 2 hours away at my farm.

Thanks,
Greg

Probably not many familiar with your tractor, but I'd think the check hole would be the same as the fill hole, and therefore it would make sense that it would be a much larger bolt/plug. ??

My experience has been that the fluid level would be kept at about axle height, not near the top of the trans.
Good luck!

I believe the tranny/hydraulics are the same oil, are you sure you don't have a small round window on the back by the 3 point, to show the level of the oil. The proper level is half way up the window...

Thank you for the reply 1st Duece.

The filler hole is right up above the transmission on these tractors.

Thanks for the reply Sawyer Rob,

Correct about the transmission/hydraulics oil being the same.
No window, it's definitely a plug. Says so in the manual.

You will see what I mean about the diagram!
I might have to have a look this weekend when I go back to the farm.
I'll clean the whole rear assembly up so I can see properly. It's covered in oil/dirt.

You can see the little window on mine, just to the right of the PTO shaft,

You check the level with the tractor level and the 3 point all the way down, AND yes, mines a little low on oil...
