On my JD 870 which is a Yanmar tractor, the water separator is under the tank and the fuel filter is up by the pump. Of course your tractor may be different as it is years newer than mine, like maybe 2 years newer and it seems a replacement for the 770 according to Tractor Data.

I think my filter and separator are all in the single bowl assembly.

I made a working dummy injector using a couple old sockets and mig welded them together and shaped them with a grinder. I was going to turn a piece of solid aluminum bar, but the sockets were the right size and pretty quick fix. Compression test was good, added in a big rubber o-ring and didn't feel and leakage past the body. I was also able to insert a USB camera ($10 on ebay and super handy) in the head and do a general inspection....all looked good. I am now focusing on the injectors and injector pump. Going to buy a pop tester or take them to a shop. I may just end up sending the IP and injectors out to get them tested together. Anyone have any recommendations for service?

Member thepumpguysc would be a likely one to contact.. as had posted in your thread and sounds knowledgeable as well as willing.

Interested in the USB camera you used and how it works, as well as limitations. Sounds worthwhile, to say the least.

I won't post an ebay link, because it wont be good in a few months....just search for "micro usb" or "endoscope" camera. They are around $10. Priceless for inspecting piston tops, rings and cylinder walls through spark plug holes.

Adjustable LED light. plugs into your smart phone and used a free app. YOU NEED ONE! They make different camera diameters...I think mine is 5.5mm and it just barely fits in the injector nozzle tube; so I would recommend spending the extra few bucks to stay in a smaller diameter range (5mm to 5.5mm, not the 7 or 8mm). For how cheap they are you could snag a small one and larger one.
