OK... here are the results... in the cab, upon closer look, one lever says "top link" and the other says "backhoe on". The "top link" lever, when I let go of it, returns back to center. The "backhoe on" lever stays in whatever position you put it in. When the hoses are hooked up the normal way, if the "backhoe on" lever is in the wrong position, the toplink won't work. Now I switched the hoses to the 2nd hose connectors and the toplink worked there, but the movement was stuttered, and I had to manually move it back to center or it would stay in the position I left it in. What does that tell me?

Sounds like someone removed the centering springs from the aux (aka double acting) valve.

Your top link valve is a spring return to center, your second valve for back hoe is a detent type, made to stay in the position you place it. Unless you have the backhoe on the tractor and hoses plugged in for it that lever must stay in the center position.

Not to seem completely lame about this (this is all new to me), the backhoe on valve is only for the backhoe, then..... and if I want to run a tilt, I need to run it off the hydraulic line going to the top valve. And since I would only be using the tip OR the top, I could switch the diverter valve via some sort of button placed somewhere? What kind of diverter valve and switch am I looking at? Then all I'd need is the hydraulics and the hoses.... does anyone supply a package like that?

What I would do in your situation is to remove the detent of the valve and if it does not already have it, then get the spring that will make it a spring return to center valve. (Fairly sure that all that is needed is to remove the detent balls from under the cap that are there for the detent portion of the valve, I believe that others have done this in the past)Fabricate something so that the valve lever can be latched open when needed for the back hoe. This should get the valve to function in the same manor as your 2nd control valve.

A complete side link kit for your tractor runs $520 + shipping costs. Michigan Iron has them also, but pretty sure that their unit only tilts to one side.
