While you are waiting to operate your tractor again here is a link to the WSM and I think it describes the linkage adjustment your dealer made.

At least you can be up to speed when talking to your dealer.

Good Luck

UPDATE: Thanks to all for all your help. I finally made it out to try the tractor yesterday, and it is significantly improved. I can shift it out of Park with one hand most of the time. And it never got stuck in Park. It still does not shift as easy out of park as it does between the other gears, but it is way better than upon delivery. I spoke with service rep, and he said he made an adjustment on the brake linkage (which was what was suggested on this site). - Bob

Glad they improved the issue for you.

Hi Buxus, maybe this is obvious to you but I'll try explaining my experience anyhow since I had the same issue on my M7060 DTH12 for a while and it took me a long time to figure out. It's all in the way you handle that shift lever lever coming out and going into park. Coming out of park you really need to rotate in a clockwise direction first right, then downward then left, then up, then right, then down again before getting into the main channel to select the gears, always pressing against the metal like you are forcing on the outwards (radially) along the metal. It's hard to explain, I can try explaining better when I have more time. But this worked miracles for me, it went from incredibly hard to very very easy. Look at the arrow in the pic but force outwards radially following the metal ins rising circle. It sounds crazy I know but it made a world of difference for me and I suffered a long time before figuring this out. Let me know if you need me to elaborate some more on that

Do this with the hydraulic shuttle in neutral and the clutch in of course, no need to hit the brake

To my knowledge M7040 have no "park position" in trans but one can lock down turning/stopping brakes. I know that's the way my '11 M7040 is BUT I never lock the brake pedals down for fear of forgetting the brakes are applied. I think Kubota should have supplied a "brake applied" WARNING LIGHT or BUZZER on my tractor.

I agree with sandyc that shift linkage may need some lubrication.
Big plus on an idiot light. I added one to both my M9's a while ago.

My 'parking brakes' are actuated with a pawl device than sometimes needs a bit of oil to work smoothly.

I added a plunger switch to the handle itself that completes a circuit when depressed and lights an idiot light on the dash, which is a good reminder. I bet we have all forgotten to release it. Something that Kubota should have addressed a long time ago IMO.

On these M7060/ similar tractors, have someone operate the shifter and get down and watch the linkage move.
You’re operating a mechanical lock. It’s got to be adjusted just right to work, it’s a bunch of linkages, a pin and A doohickey on a shaft. There are some parts that’ll wear and seize up from road salt if you’re in that environment.
I had to fix mine all up with only 500 hours/5 years on it, now I keep the shift linkage area liberally sprayed with undercoating fluid. I also found the rubber boot that covers the shaft into the transmission is really stiff in the cold, making it more difficult to change gears than in warmer weather.
You can not drive away with this tractors parking brake on. Period.

Thanks for the information. I quickly developed a simple rhythm of movement once they made the adjustment and no issues since.
