Trespassers shot

Wow, lots of off topic.

It's clear that this isn't straight forward case. The homeowner clearly messed up by not calling authorities right away. Only he and the dead know what started this. Seeing that the dead men were dropped off by the girl friends doesn't sound good for their intent. With the girlfriend getting a call from the one after the incident started, I think we can assume the homeowner went after the men after hitting the one. Seeing that the girl when looking for the guys and didn't call the police till many hours later, I'd put money that the men were up to no good.

It's pretty simple...

You shoot someone dead and you don't contact the authorities, and THEN they (the authorities) find out you did shoot someone from someone other than yourself, generally no matter what the dead we're up to while they were living, you're going to jail, and you're going to spend a lot of money explaining your actions.

What's worse? Having potentially dangerous trespassers or trying to talk to the snarky 911 operator? I'm guessing I could get better results talking to the trespassers.

I just heard about all those people stranded (and forgotten) on hwy 13 in Quebec. That doesn't surprise me at all. I bet the three hundred or so callers to 911 were told that isn't a life threatening matter and to call the regular office number!

Yeah this is a fishy story all around, two dropped off then supposed to be picked up by a woman, like someone said here, guess you could make since if you put in the drug factor. This is a good reason why I want to build a wall around my property and make Massachusetts pay for it...........

One other thing I was told by a person who had been involved in a "justified shooting". Even if you are cleared by the law you will probably loose a year's worth of salary and a year of your personal time.

He was speaking from experience even though one of the two he shot had told several people that he was gonna kill him for dating his ex wife.

I know several people that have killed in combat. Those guys struggle with that for the rest of their lives. I feel bad for the burden that they carry. I don't want that.

I live in a rural area and in the event we have some sort of emergency, law enforcement is going to take a bit to get here. I have given a lot of thought on how I would handle scenarios that involve trespassers, thief's, and crazed tweakers. If I catch some guy stealing my lawnmower, walking across my field, or sleeping in my barn, he'll end up taking a ride with the sheriff.

If he attempts to enter my house, well let's hope that doesn't happen.

Just last week, I was on my way to work at 4am, when I passed one of the roads into my property, and there was a minivan parked on my road, heading out to the main road. I pulled in, but they immediately started the car and took off. I followed them, taking pictures of the car etc. About 2 miles down the road, there was finally a stoplight. The driver, a skinny as a rail woman, comes back to my car, smoking a cigarette, and proceeds to tell me she was 'real sorry' but she is pregnant and has morning sickness and had pulled over for a while.

I said 'BS, you weren't out at 4am in this area, driving around with morning sickness.' There was a 20-something man in the passenger seat. I guarantee they were doing drugs and/or looking for something to steal and fence.

I would have called the cops, but I knew there was nothing down that road that they could have stolen. Unless they were after topsoil. She walked back to her car and took off.

When she got out of the car... my hand went to my CC in the armrest. I didn't pull it, but I wouldn't have hesitated had her hands not been visible.

Its obvious, that a gate is going to be necessary sooner than I had suspected.

Trespassers.
Pot farms.
Aggregated bears.
Helmetless riders.
Granny's with Glocks.
Buried bodies.
356? Yeah, 356, 357, whatever it takes.
John Boy can't own a gun.
And backhose....

This thread has it all!

Does anyone have a link to anything that says it was a former pot farm, or that the shooter buried the bodies? I read they were found concealed near a gate. If, by concealed, they actually meant buried, that's kind of different.

One thing to note.... the authorities had mugshots of the two dead men. It never ceases to amaze me (at least around here) how often there is a shooting, and that the police already have a mugshot of either the victim, the suspect, or both.

Its been 5 days since this happened. Has anyone seen an updated article?
