L4330s are awesome machines. I once picked up (just barely) a completely full pallet of Eldorado Lick and Stick (concrete) stone using a borrowed pair of QA forks. They list it as 1,125lb. I swear it was more! I didn't have the box blade on for counter weight and it DID lift the back tires occasionally. Back tires are filled. I only had to lift it a few inches and then move a few feet to get it off the (way overloaded) GMC Sierra.

It was a long dead shagbark hickory. About a foot of the truck was just rotten punky wood; hence one of the reasons I didn't bother processing. I highly doubt that punky wood weighed 63 lb/ft3. It was heavy though. The stuff I did process that contained mostly good wood did not weigh nearly as much as green wood either, it was pretty dried out.
The top part of the tree just shattered when it hit the ground; even the major limbs all broke off when it hit. I got pics around here somewhere.

We have a couple of shagbarks along one fence line. Those nuts are delicious ... when you can get them before the squirrels.

I was of the understanding that if the hydraulics would lift it, it wasn't too heavy for the machine and wouldn't do any damage.

Took down a Cottonwood nine years ago. Weighed this 13' piece of the trunk on the platform scales st 805 pounds.
Had to add more counter weight to keep the steering axle on the ground.
Yep, it will easily raise the rear axle with a 26' long cedar tree. :thumbsup:
Had to go back to the shop and add more weight.

If it is down I step on the fork frame in go in like a skid steer.
It is not as hard as it looks, here is a side view. If the loader arms are up I duck under and slide into the seat.

Xfaxman: You're putting an awful lot of trust in those hydraulics to keep you alive. Not going to lecture you because you're a big boy and can make your own decisions, I'm just saying I wouldn't do it.
