Any opinions? Not many features left for identification, but we think it most closely fits raccoon.

That would be my guess too possum skull - Google Search

Raccoon. Opossum skull has a high mid rib and a very small brain cavity. Most of the ones shown on that google search are raccoon as well. A few are opossum, namely the museum photo.

I'm going with Raccoon ...not Opossum because IIRC Opossum teeth are not that aggressive and large up front ... aren't the Opossum teeth more fine in general?

I boiled alot of possum skulls and both have large teeth up front on side of skull.

After I cut the head off the I throw the head in boiling water to soften the meat then scrap it off.
