I currently have a 2010 4035...which I love. However, as of late I've come to realize that I would love to have a cab tractor. I looked online and see you can buy a cab for the 4035. Just the cab though- no AC , no heat. The 3616 cab version has caught my eye. Haven't even seen one in person, only online. Reviews seem good and looks like a nice tractor. . I use my tractor/loader for moving stone around in the bucket, brush hogging, pulling a 2 bottom plow for small garden, tilling and soon to be pulling a 6' land plane to maintain my 300' drive. Just seeking opinions from any who might have more experience than me as to whether I'd be disappointed in terms of size and capabilities going from a 4035 to a 3616.

You would be going to a tractor with about half the capabilities. But with that said, the 3616 would do all that you have mentioned. Most likely if you were not using the 4035 to it's upper capacities, then you would be fine with the smaller tractor. Just keep in mind that you will be at the upper side of the 3616 capabilities where as barely mid way with the 4035.

I jump back and forth between certain tasks with a 3215 and a 7520. Not that big of a deal, just takes longer with the 3215.

Get the 3616 with the cab. You'll be comfortable year around.

Are you buying new old stock, or used?
Maybe the 2545 CAB would be closer to the 4035?

A lot of what you list are chores I do with my 4035. On my land, I occasionally wish for something a little more. I couldn't do away with the capabilities just to gain a bit of creature comforts. I wouldn't even want to trade my 4035 for one of the new 3540 cab tractors (same tractor, just tier4 with a cab). If I were adding a cab with AC, I would want to step up to the 50HP 3550.

You guys are basically telling me what I think I already knew. I was looking at (barely) used 3616s but I'm going to stick with my 4035. If I ever decide I must have a cab it will have to be at least equal the tractor in terms of capability. The first time I tried to do something with the 3616 that it couldn't quite handle I'd kick myself hard for my decision.

And you don't do that now? (something that you can't quite handle) There are all kinds of things that I wish I could do with my 7520, but at 75hp and 12,000lbs you can only do so much. ;)

Is there anyway you can just keep your open station and buy another tractor that has a cab???. There are plus's and minus's with a cab'd tractor, just like an open station. If you are on and off the tractor a lot, the cab and it's door is a pain. A cab has lot's of window surfaces to keep clean. A cab keeps you from an intimate connection with what you are actually using the tractor to accomplish, seems more like a detached video game. [ sometimes a good thing ] A cab heats up real quick in the summer sun. Granted, there is a long list of things anti to the open station. I have both a cab's tractor for winter work and an open station, and I much prefer the open station out in the woods and doing most tasks. But the cab sure is nice mid-January...

Excellent points. That's a great perspective I really hadn't thought about. For as much as i use it- 2 tractors isn't practical. Right now about half the time I wish I had a cab. I never thought about the fact that if I had a cab tractor maybe half the time I'd wish I didn't. You made me feel better. Thanks

My sort of a solution. There are some ok soft cabs, but don't expect too much.

The 2538 Cab would be a better option.. but yes the 3616 even though its a great tractor is nothing compared to the 4035... and imo the cab is noisy... lots of popping, rattling, trans noise... only good thing is the ac and radio.. personally I liked the open stage 3616 much better
