Thanks souNdguy. It all sounds easy enough, but it's still going to be a while before I can tackle it. I just found out we're getting another miniature horse, which gives us 4. This one is a mare who is pregnant, due in June. So, now I have to build a quarantine corral and some sort of shelter for her. Also expanding our current pole barn to double it's size. As you can see, my little 8N just got put on the back burner, at least until a can dedicate a few days just for her.

I'm working on mine a piece at a time. I pulled the lift cover(by myself) and took it all apart. I had to leave home for work so I put only the top cover back on with duct tape covering the open holes for the lift cylinder.
Next week I hope to continue on the pump by dropping it out.

Buckeyefarmer, I don't know anything about 600s, and only know a little about my 8N, so I couldn't say one way or the other.

lennyzx11, I still use my 8N from time to time, so when I do the hydraulics, it's going to have to be all at once.

Similar concept, completely different pump, more complicated valve in hyd cyl housing setup.

Dads Ford 600 arms won't stay up, he holds them up with a chain.
Bigger problem is clutch not working, seems stuck, but when the pedal is all the way down it lets go a little. I did the drive it around with clutch held down, slam on the brakes, vary the throttle, nothing shook loose.

Which granny, and have you adjusted clutch free play?
Have you checked hyd oil? Will it lift at all? If yes, when do the arms drop?

Have not adj clutch. Did not check hyd oil, arms do lift. The arms have dropped for yrs, the transmission problem started last fall, but don't think he told me till recently.
I won't be back for a few weeks to check it again.

Yup, ill need to know the circumstances in which they are dropping, post back when you are ready to troubleshoot it.
