Tractor
Massey ferguson 1643
Hi.
Soon I should buy a log loader (M騁avic) and the manufacturer recommend 2500 psi, my 1643 Massey is rated just below 2300.....could I harm my tractor or loader using 200 psi less or the only thing will be a +- lost of 10 % of lifting power.
Both are open system so I think to use my rear remote and hold my double action circuit ( will use a bungee to hold the arm pulled backward) I should have a pressure flow and this way I should be able to use the loader.
I'm thinking good or I am totally wrong ????? Thanks for your answers . Roger

Your thinking sounds good to me, I'd say you have a good handle on it.

No harm to either tractor or loader. Just some lost performance on the loader.

Thank you very much, taking time to answer. I bought my tractor 7 years ago, and ordered at that time 2 rear remotes but never had an implement to use them ....hihihi so no experience with those remotes. Thank you

Mfgr has a design goal for his product. Part of that is lifting force which equals PSI x area of the piston doing the lifting. Hence PSI is stated for his anticipated result. As you said, you will hurt nothing, just will (probably....depends on your specific valve adjustment) hit the pop-off pressure relief before you lift a weight equal to his design spec. As others have stated, no biggie. Happens every time you put too much in the bucket and can't lift it.

The way I think it works, (and I could be way off base here...) if you use the loader, pressure to the rear remotes loses pressure. (loader is diverting pressure from down stream) It doesn't drop the pressure you have "trapped" in the cylinder, just that you can't use the loader and the rear remotes both at the same time. Curious to hear what other people have to say or know about this...
