Our EX 450 gets louder every year. Has anyone solved this?

Are you talking exhaust noise or mechanical noise? Not that I would know much about your tractor but maybe the answer would trigger some further recollections for some of the experienced ones. I recall one particular situation on 90s era dodge cummins trucks where the injection pump gear would rattle as the backlash was taken up on each pump stroke of the pistons in the pump. this was somewhat speed sensitive but it was really annoying and there was a fix for it. I don't recall what the solution was but I seem to recall it was something to do with repositioning the gear so that a different set of teeth engaged. One guy welded some counter weights to change the resonate frequency. It could be researched. But anyway I think it would help if you described the noise scenarios.

Don't worry. As you get older your hearing will go and the tractor will get quieter...

One of the unexpected occurrences with my hearing loss is as it progressed loud noises became more and more uncomfortable. Noise began to bother me. Whereas with good hearing it did not bother me to get on a tractor with a corn picker going, should have been wearing ear protection but I didn't understand the damage process. Now just starting the engine requires that I begin by donning ear protection first thing.

You should wear hearing protection at all times on just about any tractor or lawn mower going, even cab tractors. Just because you are comfortable in the cab does not mean that your ears are not being destroyed.
