2010 Bobcat Toolcat 5600
Hello, I am new to TBN and of course I have an issue.
I have a 2010 Toolcat 5600 D series, when I put it in dive it takes off no problem . After about 50 ft it starts to drag and squeal. I up the Rpms and I can get a little more out of it.
After a minute or 2 I'm fighting at full throttle just to go 2 mph.
I can stop and let run for a little while and it does the same thing always starting off good.
It does this in forward and reverse.
I have changed both hydro filters, no metal chunks.
I cant tell if its the hydro pump, my front drive or maybe my brakes are not letting go.
I'm heading up to the dealer to pick their brain.
Is this the way the drives fail, that I've read about on the D series

Thanks

Sure sounds like the brakes are not releasing. Have you checked the brake pedal ?:confused3:

Yes, it is electronic over hydro
Maybe a valve is not opening or closing.
I will check my belt tension tommorrow on the pump, maybe it is slipping?

Squealing hydraulics ranks right up there with flames as a reason to shut-down the machine and have a look. :confused3:

It could be a loose belt but I think you would be getting charge pressure codes. Are you getting warning light when it squeals?:confused3:

Not getting any codes or warning lights

If your sure the break pedal is retracted you may want to try lifting the unit off the ground and see if the wheels turn when commanded. That might reveal if its front back or both.

As others have said, it sounds like the pressure is dropping such that the spring actuated brakes are engaging.

Also, I believe it was the earliest series Toolcats (maybe the "A" series") that had drive motor failures, not the later Series Toolcats and definitely not the "D" series.

I have lifted all 4 wheels off ground and they do spin , still hearing that screeching.
I have notice when trying to drive or spin wheels Im getting a loud rattle or vibration from center area, could this be my hydro pump?

Based on the description it does not sound like any drive motor failure that I have experienced (3 to date) . FWIW, I am aware of drive motor failure on all Toolcat series from A to D. The only time I have experienced a lack of 'motion' at a normal rate was due to a damaged half axle when it would not exceed about 3 miles an hour and had no real power...
