Peace at home... via clean boots. What do you use?

Surprised no one mentioned rugs or matts, or I missed it. I think that is how they did it in the old days, before we all have better home and gardens homes.

In the days when there were no living rooms or highly finished floors, I'm sure that entry rugs did serve that purpose. If you clean your unvarnished floors with a broom, mop and bucket then dirt isn't such an issue. If you have varnished floors, wall to wall or expensive area rugs, you're (or more accurately your wife) not going to want to have grit and dirt grinding down the finish even once. If they don't allow work boots on basketball courts it is pretty easy to see why you wouldn't want them in your home either.

I am in and out of the house alot. I am not taking my boots off every time i run in for something. If they were just caked in mud, sure. Other wise I make it a point to only let the dogs eat off floor.


But I disagree that enty rugs do not serve a purpose.


My house is not a basket ball court, not sure how that got in the mix. I never said it was good for the floors. I use things, and except wear and tear.

Sometimes will run shop vac or swifter. But gone back to simple broom. Quick.

My truck would make you guys cry. I take it in the woods, as soon as I get it. Mud, snow, branches.
