Oil & Fuel Kubota L3301 Full Hydro Oil Change at 50 hours?

/ Kubota L3301 Full Hydro Oil Change at 50 hours? #11
When I test drove all three (the L3301, the L3901, and the L4701), the L4701 HST was noticeably quieter than the other two HSTs. Not sure why, but it was, and it was factored into my decision on which one to purchase.

It has been stated on here that the larger the HST machine, the less the whining noise. With my limited experience, this seems to be true. The L45 I used to have whined way less than my B2650.

Yes that seems to be my observation as well. I've driven a B21 TLB quite a bit and it whined a lot!

Of course, if I were to buy a bigger tractor, it might not whine, but the wife would.

Well if it's any comfort to you I won't change my fluid based on your experience. I appreciate you sharing info with me.

I think you are right about Kubota making the machines whine more. I have a grand L but it's not hst. That thing is super smooth. The budget l's do make a bunch of racket. I got rid of a L2501 because it's exhaust was so loud. Between the hst and the lack of muffler the thing drove me nuts. Lol

When you do that first service, you better have eaten your Wheaties. That HST filter on mine so so **** tight I had to use a three ft pipe wrench on it to get it loose! HeRd from the dealer this is common from factory.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never had this issue on my other equipment. I'll have my massive pipe wrench on stand by just in case! Lol

I thought my L3301 came with Super UDT2 but I could be wrong. I did notice mine was about 2qts low when new so I topped off with Super UDT2. I did notice it seemed to get a little quieter somewhere after 50hrs (at 86hrs now). I just changed the filter at 50hrs.

Great info! Hopefully it will "wear in" and quieten up.

Can't say I noticed any difference between new & 320 hours when i sold it 3 years later on my L3200 hst. Not saying it didn't quite down, but if it did it was gradual enough I didn't particularly notice.
