When I get the 'Scam" calls several times a day, I interrupt them and tell them that UPS is at my door, "I'll be right back". Then I set down the phone and wait.
Me also.I have since unplugged the house phone and don't answer the cell if the number is not in my contact list. They'll leave a message if its important.

Dump it man! You won't look back.We screen all calls through the answering machine and never pick up unless someone we know starts talking. Seriously considering dumping the land line now that we all have cell phones. Just no justifiable need to keep the land line anymore.
The phone rang, caller Id showed a local number so I answer with hello. I heard a half second of noise as if someone was moving their phone from ear to ear then a cheerful giggling girl said she had a problem with her headset. I forget what was said in the next 3 seconds, other than me saying yes and instantly wondering if I just fell for the phone scam that has been on the news lately.
Anyone else fall victim to these vulchers? Is there anything we can do to save ourselves from their deceiving ways?
Another good reason to drop the land line besides saving some $$$... and I recommend registering on the 'Do Not Call' government site. This cut our unsolicited calls to virtually zero.Oh yes. "Emily" has been calling me for a few weeks now. She really ought to get that headset looked at!
