Hello, I am new to the forum and was wondering about how large of a demand there would be for a used Norse winch (probably a 450). We had a very large storm last summer where I live and I lost a lot of trees on my property. Many that would require a lot of work to get to without some sort of winch. So I was thinking of buying a Norse 450 to get all the trees out this summer, problem is after I'm done cleaning up I don't think I will have much more use for it. So my question is, how hard do you guys feel it would be to sell the winch in a year or less, and for what kind of money? Any info would be greatly appreciated and info on how to also get the word out when ready to sell. Thanks.

They don't come up for sale much... at least not around here. If there is plenty of logging around you... that would help. Curious what other have to say...

Norse 450 3 Point Hitch - 40-90 HP <<<Wow, the big one, shouldn't be a problem at all selling that when done, but if banged up and bad scratches, it will be a $1000.00 lost, maybe more, but you might be able to sell the wood for logs to help pay for it.
Have you priced a 3 point hitch grapple? some people like them on big tractors, good luck.

Thank you both for the replies. I fully expect to take a hit on price for resale, but I live on a large pine ridge and would rather spend a little money getting rid of downed trees to help prevent pine bark beetles and loss of more trees. Its a big part of why we bought the property. the big thing is I don't want to spend 3 plus grand on a winch, use it for a few months and then watch it waste away in the corner. I would rather see it get used. would love to here more opinions and if any one may be interested in one in the near future please let me know also. Thanks again.

I would also consider a 350, but can't seem to find one as it looks like Lebonville must have discontinued them or something cause they are no longer available on there site.

Been looking at bigger winches lately and I noticed the same thing. Funny thing is - Their Catalog says the 350 is their most popular selling winch. Go figure ................???.

I would but a lightly used winch in a heart beat if it was 1/3 to 1/4 off new

Just watched the video on Norse winches. Sure wish I had something like that back in my firewood cutting days. Although we still live on our rural acreage, those days are a thing of the past for me. Went to all Propane several years ago.

Good luck with stopping those pine borer beetles. A decade or so ago the woolly adelgid bugs destroyed most of our Hemlock trees and now all our Ash trees are dead due to the emerald ash borer beetles. We have a professional logger taking out all the dead Ash now. Our forests just can't win against these foreign invaders.
