Non leak 5 gal fuel container

While on vacation last week I saw a couple of blue 5 gal plastic containers at a Thrift Store for $6.99 with a turn valve. I decided I'd buy one and try it for my diesel fuel. .

I just went back and read this. Are you implying that you are using thin walled 5 gal water jugs for diesel storage? I don't know if that's a good idea. Would seem to be it wouldn't take long for that plastic to deteriorate. Might end up with a mess. Or worse, end up contaminating your diesel and then your tractor. Maybe someone else will have more expertise, but I personally wouldn't be using those cheap camping water containers for fuel storage.

Found the no spill 5 gal container and it's only three (3) times as expensive at $32 No-Spill Gas Can - For Life Out Here
as the $10 one available at Wal Mart and Amazon that I bought that also has the vent cap and is plastic and not metal so much lighter for us elderly people to pick up.:thumbdown::shocked:

You get what you pay for and I will tell you the No-spill can is a heck of a lot better than what you're comparing to. If you see one in person I am sure you'll agree.

Northern Tool has them on sale right now, and you can find a discount coupon online to knock even more off the price. I bought two there and they worked out to $25 each.

I paid 10.00 for a battery operated pump you drom in the can and turn it on. It is run by 2 AA batteries. I have pumped over a 150 gals on my first set of batteries. No need for a special can and it works for gas and diesel. Best part does not sill a drop

I saw these on Amazon and started to order one actually a couple of different times but the reviews I saw were horrible. Glad you got one of the great ones.

So you haven't seen the ones like I bought? I have many, many, yellow and red ones and the blue ones I just bought are thicker and heavier than the yellow and red ones. You know they are all made out of the same poly, don't you?

Last of all for those that are concerned about not remembering whether they have gas or diesel in which can and do yellow only for diesel and red only for gas. Spray paint or big black marker to mark each can with what color the can is or contents of gas only or diesel only which may even be better than colors since everyone doesn't know what the colors stand for.
I want all of you that have the perfect fuel containers to keep them. I'm not trying to talk anyone out of their sacred perfect fuel container that never spills a drop. Almost all of mine did and I found two for a reasonable price that don't. I own many of the ones mentioned and have tried/own many siphon products. I'm a bit old and tried lots of different things and don't resent anyone for having something that works for them. No, I'm not going to buy more since I now have two that work better for me along with the 10 yellow and red ones that I already own and the many different siphon products I've spent major money on over the many years.:cool2:

The pump I bought came with a very high remarks from someone on this site. They had a landscape service and told which one they used. The only thing with mine is the hose is only a couple foot long so I just set a 4 foot step ladder up and st the can on it. I normaly use a 30 gal tank with a 12 volt pump on it and I can wheel this wherever I want. The battery pump works great to refuel my generator and mower. I think fuel gets heaver the older you get

nospill is a company that make gas cans with a push-button valve. I love them!

I do too...replaced two diesel and one gas can (all 5 gallon) with No-Spill cans

They work a lot better once you cut off those taps around the button so you can use your whole hand to depress the button.
