Tractor Sizing Best tractor for brush hogging

Looking for recommendations on tractors to operate a row mowing business. Looking to get in to pipeline upkeep and am thinking 15 foot bat wing is way to go. What are folks having good luck with. models of tractor and rotary mowers.

I would like to hear the results from your research. My future plans include a 15' batwing. Currently starting with a m6060 Kubota and 12' batwing..

Wait around. Lots of guys with batwings on this site. I am sure some will chime in. Most in my area are running 75-100hp awd John Deere.

I have a 100 hp and a 15' mower. I think it would be a good match for ROW mowing. Seem to be a common pairing here. If it was a dedicated machine though, I'd get a 6d series and hx15 no loader.

Best answer is check out the guys that work for the state, like the Texas Department of Transportation (DOT). These contract guys go through **** trying to mow highway right of ways and do one heck of a nice job. The 30+ degree banks they mow are the real "how do they do it" for me.

Most use JD cab, 4wd, don't know if hydro or not. Mower I recall is Mohawk and JD. I think the biggest thing in that kind of mowing is if you could get a seat like I have seen in some combines used in wheat country where the whole thing tilts to level while the chassis follows the terrain.
