Would like to re-set idle speed on my new X570. Looks complicated in that screws are all weird looking as to tools required. Anyone done this? Idles in high speed mode and don't like to engage PTO that fast.

Appears the carb is set at factory. If the idle setting isn't in the operators manual, then trace the throttle cable to see if there is a set screw that can be adjusted... but maybe not possible due to the EPA meddling for emissions control on the new engines.

If it is new as in warranty , talk to the dealer . Do not attempt to adjust it . You will not hurt anything engaging the PTO at WOT , let alone high idle speed . Just like the clutch on your AC compressor on your vehicle . I have found that WOT and hit the switch is better . Trying to help , K evin .

Do you know what RPM the engine is idling at? The engine manual says it should be 1,550 RPM.
If you do not have a tach, buy one of the low cost mini-tach's and hook it up. Good investment.
To slow idle will result in poor cooling of a hot engine after heavy use.

Sorry about all of the replies, Tapatalk went a bit nuts and I can't seem to delete the extra posts but I was able to at least edit them. I'm really not that big of an... If a mod sees this and wants to delete the extra posts that would be good.

According to the Operator's Manual the PTO should be engaged at full throttle. For what it is worth my X500 always seems like it is idling fast but when I checked it was at the proper RPM.
