JANICE THE TRACTOR STRIKES AGAIN!

Janice... sounds like a love/hate relationship. Now you have me thinking about naming my tractor... what is this forum coming too? :confused2:

I'd probably not name mine after my 'ex'; it's just not fair to the tractor or to any of the nice ladies I've met with the same name.

However! I could go with my first crush from High School (who I actually said yes to a date :cool2:). Jennifer Bretschnieder...

... Sorry. I zoned out there for a moment.

Why don't you try sewing up the tire with wire and putting a tube in it.

Holy Crap! That's it... Jenny was my big summer crush in high school. She was visiting for the summer from Nebraska staying at her uncle's house across the street. This was our (well, my) song. Great memories at the lake! About 2 months later after she went home I found out that she was 'sent' to Washington for the summer to get away from bad friends when her uncle came over to talk to my dad. I was at the doorway when her uncle told my dad she was pregnant. I about died right there. Turned out it was her 'bad' boyfriend that she was supposed to have gotten away from.

I think this was when I understood the term, "sweating bullets".

I was curious so I looked up the size.

The Australian continent is about the size of continental USA (that excludes Alaska which is huge and Hawaii).
NSW is pretty much the same size as Texas.

USA is the 4th largest Country by land mass and Australia is the 6th.

Inquiring minds want to know...

Same deal here in Canada. Over half of us live within 150 miles of the US border...the rest of the country is pretty sparce. Getting stuff is a hassle and shipping can be a bear - because the distances are so long.

Pretty sure it has NOTHING to do with size and everything to do with taxation, tariffs and the increasing cost of doing business in Canada which seem to make more and more US companies just say to heck with that place up north.

I love my equipment, but come to think of it, never once named a car or anything else mechanical. Well, unless #$#$% POS counts.

I'm delighted with the feedback - regardless of lack of political correctness all round.

Re names, here in OZ. we generally try to play it safe by calling all of our various girlfriends "Darling", "Sweetie" "Baby" and so on because it avoids getting a black eye when calling Mary Juliette or whatever. Unfortunately, when you actually marry one, there seems to be some demand to use their actual name, at least on occasions. The problem with that is the name takes on a life of its own and is extended to machines, vehicles etc that display similar characteristics.

On more practical matters, if I can get this huge tire off the rim, then yes, it may be possible to stitch the split with wire, then glue a heavy patch over the top. I'll still need a $200 heavy duty tube and the tread will still be RS but as noted, the chains do give reasonable traction.
