2010 JD x728
Hi All, I recently picked up a 2010 x728. My question is where are all the grease points? I have gone through the machine and replaced the plugs, oil and filter as well as the transaxle filter and changed the hydro fluid front and rear as well as the gas filter and radiator fluid. I have only found the 3 grease zerks in the front steering as the manual states. I've been reading and it seems like it changed year to year in the manuals, older manuals stating more grease points in the rear. Can someone please tell me where the other grease points are?

Thank You!
Pat
I will be having more questions about installing the 60" 7 Iron later

You likely have them all.. being as it is 4wd and not all-wheel-steer.

May be a front axle pivot bushing that takes grease, but would need the last 6 digits of your s/n to tell. PM me if you think that would help.

G'day Mate and welcome to TBN from Downunder.

You've found all of the grease nipples (zerks)... unless you haven't. :) OEM Operator Manuals have a tendency to not be updated.

Enjoy the site.

Yes, don't want to forget those drive shaft U joints. My X748 has two. One is rather hard to get to.

That's exactly what I was guessing ruffdog and ccsial! I could not figure out exactly where the zerk is for the rear. I'm going to do a little crawling when I get out of work today. I appreciate the input!

If you have the deck on, reach up under the tractor about where the leading edge of the seat would be. You should be able to feel the shaft going from the engine to the transaxle.

There is one near the front of the tractor and the other near the rear. You may have to turn the shafts to get to the zerks. One shaft will move the tractor when you turn it. The other one is tied to the engine and the engine will turn. At least that is the way my 748 is.

I have to remove the deck to get to them. I jack the rear of the tractor up a bit to get under there and have room to work.
