I have had my 336D for about 5-6 years and LOVE IT ... but recently I had to put a head gasket on it. SO While I had it in the shop I thought " now would be a good time to change all fluids" after all I've NEVER changed them since I had it & who knows how long before :mad: anyway my tractor has always slipped out of 3rd gear (not the power shifter) and so I thought I'd take the time & pull off the cover & have a looky .... I even went as far as to take the shifter forks out and they don't appear to be bent and from what I could tell everything looked good ?? :confused2: so I KNOW I am missing something ... so I Thought you all might help me?

What could be wrong with it?
I've attached pictures so you can see the forks

also another question is.. where is the dang hydraulic Screen ? I took the screw on filter off but can not find where the screen should be

another question :confused2:(maybe this be the last one) does anyone have a wiring diagram they could share , more specifically the starter solenoid & key switch ?

SO thanks in advance ...

I had that problem maybe 15 years ago on my 336D. I thought it was a spring/detent ball as I recall. A cheap fix. I will try to bring my manuals home to check your questions.

Thanks
I have read online that it may could be the detent ball \ spring but I dont know where it's located at?? Only spring I've seen is connected to the shifter lever , I didn't see any other sprigs.

Don't know about the 336 but some models have detents in the rod the shift fork slides on. The shift fork will have a spring and ball that goes in that detent. Make sense?

A good guess would be the Thermostart. All the way to the bottom or if you printed it to the far Right. BLK. to Thermostart Switch. This is what my Thermostart looks like. I had to run wire and connect mine. Which is Blue. Turn your key backwards to get power to it. I very seldom ever have to use mine but It does work and good when cold. I don't have a fuel Bowl so this is how I get fuel to it. Then disregard or squirt it back into my fuel tank.
